The brief

Power Vape Shop is a UK vape retailer selling across physical stores and online to a large domestic and international market. They needed a customised Shopify storefront that didn't just look the part but solved the operational problem behind a multi-channel retailer: keeping a huge, fast-moving product range and its stock accurate everywhere at once. We handled the full build and ongoing maintenance.

What we did

  • Customised the Shopify theme and storefront for the brand and its large catalogue.
  • Built AI-assisted product import from the client's warehouse system, so products flow into Shopify without manual entry.
  • Integrated the backend CRM as a second product source and reconciled it with the warehouse feed.
  • Implemented real-time stock synchronisation across physical shops and the online store via the Shopify API and third-party integrations.
  • Added vendor-based product badges in Shopify Liquid and JavaScript for dynamic, brand-specific merchandising.

How we built it

The hard part isn't the storefront, it's the data behind it. Power Vape Shop's products live in a warehouse system and a backend CRM, and stock moves through physical tills as well as online. We built import pipelines that pull products from both systems and use AI-assisted matching to bring them into Shopify cleanly rather than as duplicates, then a synchronisation layer over the Shopify API and third-party integrations keeps stock levels consistent across every channel in real time, so a sale in a shop is reflected online and the other way round. On the front end, vendor-based product badges are generated in Liquid and JavaScript, giving brand-specific visual cues across a catalogue that is too large to merchandise by hand.

Because Power Vape Shop sells through tills and online at the same time, the whole system is designed around one source of truth for stock, so the catalogue stays accurate without anyone updating it by hand.
